Transforming unused technology into tools for education in a digital age.
From rural classrooms to urban youth centres, refurbished tech gives students access to online resources, digital tools, and new opportunities. Devices are pre-installed with educational software and paired with partner resources from Britannica Kids and Perlego, and solar lights from Namene Solar.
We work with Books2Africa to vet projects and handle logistics—ensuring devices go to approved schools, charities, and community groups. Each shipment is tracked, documented, and aligned with local needs. Books2Africa has delivered over 4.2 million books and hundreds of computers to learners in 20+ African countries.
Millions in rural Africa have never used a computer — excluded from the digital tools that shape education and opportunity. Computers2Africa bridges this gap by delivering refurbished devices and educational software, helping learners connect to the digital age and unlock new paths for growth.
Glad you asked!
According to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), only 39% of Africa’s population was digitally connected as of 2019, leaving hundreds of millions—especially in rural areas—without access to computers or the internet!
According to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), nearly half the global population aged 10 and over—about 3 billion people—has never used the internet, with many of the unconnected living in rural and remote areas of Africa.
AI can stimulate economic growth, create new industries, generate employment, and help solve some of Africa’s most complex challenges in healthcare, agriculture, education, and public service delivery.

“Before this laptop came, I was managing with biro and paper—writing lesson notes by hand and struggling to keep up. Now I can type my plans, find teaching materials online, and even show my students how to use a computer. Most of them had never touched one before. It’s not just helping me teach better—it’s opening their eyes to a bigger world. This laptop is a blessing, truly”.
